MEAT PRODUCERS' BOARD.
THE ELECTORAL SYSTEM. NO CHANGE AT PRESENT. >'[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT, ] WELLINGTON, Wednesday. At the last annual meeting of the New Zealand Farmers' Union a resolution was passed*in regard to the election of members of the. New Zealand Meat Producers' Board. The Dominion secretary of the union states that the Minister for Agriculture. to whom the resolution was referred, has now written to him advising that the views of the union were submitted to the board, whose secretary states " I am directed to advise that my board considers the present method of election is entirely satisfactory, and would point out that it extended the ward system for the last election, so that there were ten electoral districts instead of six, as previously. My board would further point out that the representative stock owners who attended the last annual meeting of the board, and who were the delegates tor the producers from all parts of the Dominion, expressed themselves as entirely satisfied with the present system." The Minister adds: "In view of the position as set out, it is not intended to take any further action in connection with this matter at present. I have no doubt that your executive will concur in this attitude."-
