BOXING.
PURDY-ELWiOUR MATCH. The professional boxing match, of 15 rounds for a purse oE .£l5O, to take place at the Town Hall next Monday between C. Purdy, the Auckland light-weight champion, and R. Elniour. a French ' welter-weight, should provide some fast and exciting boxing. Purdy maintains all the cleverness he possessed as an amateur and Ins experience as a professional has increased his knowledge of ring-craft to a. marked extent. In Elmour he will be meeting a hard-hit ling opponent, who will have an advantage in weight. It is stated the French boxer is fully equipped to take advantage of this concession. He is of the forceful type who keeps going from end to end. The match will be preceded by the usual number of amateur bouts.
