IRON HAND IN ITALY.
INDICTMENT OP FASCISM. IMPOTENCE OF POPULACE. MUSSOLINI SUPER-DICTATOR. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. Sun. LONDON. Oct. 12. Mx. Hugh Redwood, in his final article on Italy in the Daily News*, pungently criticises and reviews that country's position after three years of Fascist rule. " There is," he says, " a lickspittle Parliament, boycotted by the Opposition, and a monarchy which would bo instantly endangered if it ventured to assert itself. The populace are impotent to give a free vote. " There has been a cataract of titles and decorations, an undisguised advocacy of Imperial war, and a gagged press, with a cudgel or cold steel for its political opponents. Ihere has been an abrogation of Labour's rights and protection of capital. State incomes are provided for an army of job-holders. " Secret overtures have been made for an alliance with Soviet Russia. Italy has an international policy which flouts the League of Nations. It writes 'Corfu* on its banners, and still toys with the idea of adventure into independent Albania. '' Mussolini has become a super-dicta-tor, with semi-dictators and 'deroi-semi-dictators to impose his orders upon the provinces and municipalities." VIOLENT FA SCI STL ATTACK ON FREEMASONS. NINE PERSONS ARRESTED. Renter. ROME. Oct. 12. Bands of Fascist! attacked and damaged the headquarters of the Fcriana Lodge, belonging to Freemasons of the Scottish Rite. The police arrested nine persons. In consequence of the incident the secretary-general of the Fascist Party has dismissed the secretary of the Rome Fascisti.
