MAN KILLED IN A RACE. SERIOUS INJURY TO PILOT. NEW YORK. Oct. 8. Lawrence Buranelli was killed and Clarence Chambcrlin, the pilot of the same machine, was seriously hurt, when a plane crashed during the opening event of the international air races at Mitchell field. Hundreds of aviators from Europe, Jpan and .America saw the monoplane fall. Two of Buranelli's brothers were present. Basil Howe won the race, covering 100 miles in 58 minutes.
