COASTAL SHIPPING.
THREAT EN E D H 01D -U F, WAITING ON GOVERNMENT. Australian and SZ. Cable Association. (Reed. H-'' P.m.) S\ DNFA, Oct. 13. A special meeting of Australian seamen to consider the holding up of coastal shipping was held to day. It was decided to wait, and see what the Government would do before calling a strike. This, however, is onlv temporarily delayed unless the Government should take action it, the direction of the men's ultimatum. The ultimatum in question was served on the State Government. It demanded the abolition of the Permanent and Casual Waterside Workers' Union. Should it come into force the whole of the coastal shipping would be laid up within 10 days.
