HAURAKI ROADS.
BIG IMPROVEMENT SCHEME, [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] NGATEIV. Tuesday. The Hauraki Plains County Council decided to take the necessary, steps to have tho principal roads in the country gazetted fourth-class roads under the heavy traffic regulations. Meetings are to be held in various parts of the county at an early date to got the feeling of the ratepayers in connection with a scheme of roading improvements to cover the whole county. It was decided to ask the Lands Department to expedite -the plans and estimates for the Ngarua over the Piako River. A deputation from the settlers on the Pekapeka Road asked that a loan be raised to put in a water supply scheme on that road, the water to be pumped from the Waihou River.
