MUNICIPAL HOUSES.
LETTER OF APPRECIATION.
REQUEST FOR ' STREET LIGHT.
Appreciation of the workers' dwellings erected by the City Council at Grey Lynn in the vicinity of the Zoo was expressed in a letter from an occupant reed at the meeting of the council last evening. The writer said that having lived in one of the brick houses far the past 14 months he desired to thank the council for building such comfortable homes. They were dry, airy and warm, and all that was required for a working man and his family. If at any time it should be desired to show visitors over the dwellings his house would be at the disposal of the council.
The writer then pointed out that West View Road was -very dark and suggested that a light should be placed there for the benefit of the residents.
The tag to the letter caused no little amusement among members of the council, and it was decided to refer the matter to the Works Committee.
