SAVINGS BANK CONTROLLER. [BY TELEGRAPH. —'PEEKS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Thursday. A large gathering of members of tlni General Pest Office staff assembled to bid farewell and express good wishes to Mr. F. T, J. Johnson on his retirement from the position of controller of the savings banks and accounts branch after a long and useful career in the Post Office service. All branches of the service wer« represented and a great many letters and telegrams were received from officers in other parts of the Dominion. The presentation of a handsome desk was made by Mr. H. D. Edward*.
