STRIKERS NOT SUFFERING.
ACCOMMODATION ARRANGED EFFORTS OF UNION. The British seaman who are on strike in Auckalnd do. not appear to be suffering privation. The New Zealand Seamen's Union hai become their official host but is seeking as much aid as possible. Collection boxes have been prominent among fcotoball ana other crowds with what result it is difficult to say.
At the Sunday foreshore labour gatherings collectjona have been made and appeals issued to unionists' with • a spare room in their houses to billet a striker, the Seamen's Union undertaking to find the rations if necessary. Accommodation has been improvised it the basement of the. Trades Hall and a party has been found beds in a place in College Hill and so far none appears to have had recoarse to walking the streets. • A few. it' is reported, have found work aaa possibly, nsora may be securing an occasional job but there is not much incentive at the moment for the strikers to seek work. Their hosts remain Willing to find the wherewithal o f life for them!
