LAWN TENNIS.

MOUNT ALBERT CLUB. THREE NEW COURTS PROPOSED. A very successful season, which produced sufficient surplus revenue to provide for three extra courts, was recorded in the Mount Albert Lawn Tennis Club committee's report, adopted at the. annual meeting, presided over by Mr. A. T. Garlick. It was stated the club now had about 120 members, and the committee had decided to lay down three new courts with the substantial credit balance in hand. With the extra courts it was hoped to keep pace with the general growth of the district, which, during the last year, had been phenomenal. During the season provision had been made for the admission of junior members at a nominal subscription. The entrance to the property had been formed. Tho club was indebted to the Hon. George Fowlds and Mr. J. Walker for donations toward the cost of this work. It was hoped to open the courts for play on Labour Day. The competiiions played during the season were won as follows Ladies' singles championship, Miss McClymont; men's championship singles, Mr. A. M. Nicholson; ladies' handicap doubles, Mrs. Hislop and Mrs. Cooper; combined handicap doubles, Miss Parkinson and Mr. A. Beck; men's handicap doubles, Messrs. Nicholson and Hardy. / The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. George Coles; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. A. T. Garlick, R. H. P. Cockroft, and H. J. S. EIHb; lawn superintendent, Mr. S. F. Woodroffe; honorary secretary, Mr. H'. B. Kerr Hislop; honorary treasurer, Mr. A. C. Doughty; honorary auditor, Mr. W. G. Crouch; management committee, Messrs. W. D. M. Glaister, R. D. Boyes, F. C. Ellis, A. H. Smith, J. F. Wells, and E. L. Burton j ladies' committee, Mesdames Masefield, Cooper, Willis, and Misses White and . Butler; delegates to Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, Messrs. E. L, Burton and F. C. Ellis.
