WAIUKU AFFAIRS.
TOWN BOARD MEETING. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WAIUKU, Thursday. The Waiuku Town Board deputed Messrs. W. L. West and H. Flavell to deal with requests for footpath improvements in Domain Street and Mellsop Avenue, including the entrance to the Oddfellows' Hall. An offer from the Auckland Automobile Association to supply two warning-hoards for erection near the Waiuku school was accepted. A complaint cf flooding of the school playground by stormwater from George and France Streets was made by the Auckland Education Board, and it was resolved to ask the Education Board, to confer with the Town Board on the ground to arrive at a solution of the difficulty. The lists for a national memorial to the late Mr. Massey, showing a total of £7 9s 6d, were directed to be sent to the Auckland town clerk. Subject to the Health Department's approval Messrs. Alfred Buckland and Sons were granted permission to erect pig saleyards in Belgium Street. An offer to submit a scheme on a per-centage-of-cost basis for a water supply for the town from Grimmer's Springs was deferred meanwhile.
