FATALITY AT MINE.
WORKER STRUCK BY TRUCKS. [BY TELEGRAM. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] GREYMOUTH, Wednesday. An accident that resulted fatally occurred at the Liverpool State colliery at Rewanui this morning. An elderly workman, Mr. Jas. Whelan, aged about 60, was engaged hooking on tnicks at the bottom of a jig. A race of trucks ran away, striking Whelan and causing injuries to his a.nd hand. He died in hospital.
