Many good authoritierf. agree that with animals normally developed it .is good practise to breed Jerseys and Guernseys calve when from 26 to 28 months of age, and Aryshires and Friesians from 30 to 32 months .of age. Especially welldeveloped' animals can safely "be bred from somewhat younger. The most practical advantage in early breeding is that the v bettor gives an earlier return for her keep It is very important that the lieifer make good growth before she is bred from, because after that time she will make little body growth until after she has completed ,<], her first lactation period.
