TASMANIAN PARLIAMENT.

QUESTION OF MONEY BILLS. In the course of a debate in the Tasmania!! Legislative Assembly on the Ad-dress-in-Reply, the leader of the Opposition, Mr. J. C. McPhee, suggested that tho constitutional question as to the powers of tho Legislative Council and Assembly with regard to money bills should bo submitted to the Privy Council for definite settlement by means of a memorial from both Houses. The Premier, Mr. J. A. Lyons, oxpressed himself in favour of that course as representing a cheaper way of settling tho question than fighting it through Tasmanian and other Australian Courts to thG Privy Council, which was the ono point at' which a decisivo settlement could be reached. He accepted Mr. McPhee's suggestion, and said that he would recommend it to Cabinet for adoption.
