POLAND MEMORIAL.
PAEROA DEFEAT WAIIiI. • Tho return match in the Poland Memorial Cup between Paeroa and Waihi wa3 played at Paeroa under favourable conditions. Tho home team won by 13 points to 3 after a very hard-fought Shortly after the start Waihi secured from a scrum in midfield, but Royal intercepted and instituted a pretty offensive movement, resulting in McNeil scoring. Taylor converted. Tho game was very willing. T. Johnson, a Paeroa forward, was ordered off for tackling a man too hard. Waihi carried play well into I'aoroa's twenty-five where, from a scrum, Malt worked tho blind sido and transferred to Cole, who scored in tho corner. Tho second quarter was very even. In tho third Masters intercepted a pass and with his forwards swept down tho field, R. Shaw scoring in a handy position. Taylor again converted. Tho game at this stago was being hardly fought and after a melee in midfield C. Mooney, Waihi, was ordered off. Dclemoro had several shots at goal without success. Toward tho end of tho gamo Paeroa were awarded a penalty kick, which Taylor made full uso of, bringing tho final scoro to Paeroa 13, Waihi 3. Mr. D. G. McMillan, of Hauraki Plains, was referee. Tho result places Paeroa and Waihi level in the competition, each team having ono loss and threo wins. TE AROHA AND PIAKO DRAW. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AROHA Monday. Tho football match between Piako and Hauraki Plains, played at To Aroha on Saturday for tho Poland Memorial Cup, resulted in a draw, each sido scoring 3 points. Tho gamo was fast at times and some bright individual play was seen, but good combined movements wero few and far between. There was no scoro in tho first half. Aftor tho interval Nicol scored a nico try under the posts for Hauraki Plains. Cotter failed with the kick. In tho last quarter Piako just missed scoring on several occasions. Their efforts were rewarded at last when, from a nico centring kick by S. Goldbsury, F. Goldsbury dashed up, secured tho ball and touched down—a beautiful try. J. McLaren failed with tho kick.
