OBITUARY.

DR. CHARLES F. G. WEBSTER. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] "WELLINGTON. Thursday. One of Wellington's prominent medical practitioners, Dr. Charles Franklin Garcia Webster, after an illness of ten weeks, died at his residence, Hobson Street, today. Dr. Webster, who was only in his 49th year, was born in Queensland and was educated at the Brisbane Grammar School. He enjoyed a brilliant career as a medical student at Trinity College, Melbourne, and the Melbourne University, graduating B.Sc., M.B. and C.M. He was then appointed house-surgeon at the Melbourne Eye and Ear Hospital, and after some years there came to Wellington, where "he practised for the past 25 years. Dr. Webster was for many years senior honorary ophthalmic surgeon at the Wellington Hospital. He leaves a widow and two children. MR. A. G. MORRISON. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAIHAPE. Thursday. The death took place at Taihaps last evening of Mr. Alexander Graham Morrison, only son of Mr. Matthew Morrison, of Taihape. The late Mr. Morrison, who was 33 years of age, was an old boy of Nelson College. He saw considerable service during the great war. Enlisting with the Main Body he joined the Wellington Mounted Rifles and went with his regiment to Gallipoli, from where he was invalided to England. Ho was later attached to the New Zealand Hospital at Walton-on-Thames with the rank of quartermaster-sergeant. Subsequent to his return to New Zealand he married Miss Gwen Whalley, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. li. H. Whalley, of Palmerston North. Mr. Morrison had been in a serious state of health for some weeks, his illness arising out of disability contracted in war service. MRS. JOSEPH MITCHELL. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] HAMILTON Monday. The death occurred in Hamilton last evening of Mrs. Joseph Mitchell, at the age of 95 years. The late Mrs. Mitchell arrived in Now Zealand by the sailing vessel Grassmere in 1855. She settled in Wellington, and in 1856 was married to Mr. Joseph Mitchell, of Wellington, who died in 1868. Accompanied by her son, Mr. T. J. Mitchell. Mrs. Mitchell came to the Waikato 21 years ago. Three sons and a daughter survive.
