THF CAMBRIDGE CHARGES.
BOARD TO RECONSIDER,

Tho Cambridge Power Board appointed its chairman, Mr. M. Wells, to represent it at tho annual conference of power boards.
Messrs. Bycroft Brothers complained that the board had broken faith with them in purchasing electrical supplies without extending them an opportunity of quoting. They stated that in their opinion the board members wcro not awaro of this procedure. Tho engineer stated that the supplies referred to wero indent orders, besides which thy wero supplies that Messrs. Bycroft Brothers wcro unable to quoto for. Futher, the firm had been asked verbally for "quotes," and had not even replied. The board considered tho engineer's statement quite satisfactory and resolved to reply along tho lines indicated. Applications for financial assistance for electrical installations totalling £lO4 were granted. Tho Borough Council wrote refusing to pay the amended scale charges for street lighting, while tho dairy committee of tho Farmers' Union also requested that tho milking motor charges bo reduced. It was resolved to further consider tho wliolo scale of charges. Tho board's balances are as follows: Power fund account, debit, £1392 6s 6d; loan account, debit, £15105 18s 7d; installation account, credit, £620 19s 6d.
