UNEMPLOYED PROBLEM.
CHURCH AID INVOKED. At a recent meeting of unemployed in Perth, West Australia, it was said that there were 2000 out of work in the State. Protests were made against the payment of 10s a day under the Government relief scheme, instead of 15s or 17s 6d per day. It was decided to ask the clergy to put the position of thp unemployed before their congregations, with the object ot setting aside oSerings for' the rejef oi the unemployed; to urge workers to boycott ths Government Labour Bureau untu the waives and conditions of work were improved; to request the Government to provide work at trade union rate? or equivalent in maintenance.
