ROTORUA AT WEMBLEY.

REALISTIC PANORAMA. MUD POOL ALWAYS BOILING. [FBOK ora OWN OOEEEBFONDENT.] LOOTOir. 20. The panoriana of the thermal district around Rotorua is the largest in the New Zealand ( pavilion at the Empire Eshibition, measuring 50ft. by 25ft. Its activity is qnite the outburst at stated intervals of tho Whakarewarewa geyser. The mud pool is always babbling, the cooking hole is always ready for the potato pot, and bathers never have to wait for the water to get hot. Mnd for the volcano came from Rotorna and in the foreground is more of the real thing, actually from tho thsrxna! district. Small figures are dotted about in tho foreground, and Maori pas aret on the hillsides. ' . The background is quite grandly impressive in extent and treatment. What one actually sees, is the panorama from tho top of Mount Tarawera. Immediately below are Lakes Tarawera and Rotomahana, and to the right, in the distance, the hills abova Rotorna. Lake Rerewhaikalta, with hills beyond, occupies the left of the background, and nearer to the spectator, about the middle, are the White Terraces, Green Lake, Lake Okareka and Wairoa Village. The whole panorama takes in some 40 miles each way and has been splendidly conceived and carried out by Mr. A. R. Fraser. Mr. A. F. Roberta, tho New Zealand "commissionar, was showing a visitor round th« pavilion a few days ago, and she said, on reaching the Rotorua panorama: "What's this?" He answered: "It is a representation cf our thermal district." "What's thermal I" qame the surprising additional query. So, for the benefit of the uninitiated, an explanatory key has been placed above the alcove People who are well acquainted Tilth the thermal district are very enthusiastio about the way this representation has been thought out and carried out.
