ONEHUNGA METHODISTS.
EVANGELISTIC MISSION. The, first of a scries of evangelistic services was conducted in /the Onehunga Methodist Church yesterday, attracting large congregations in the morning, afternoon and evening. The services will be continued throughout the week. The Rev. E. Drake, chairman of the Auckland district presided at tho quarterly meeting of the Onehunga circuit. Special referenco was made to the mission services which are being held this week. Mr. A. J. Pople, senior circuit steward, reported tho income for tho quarter was £179 17s Bd, and the expenditure left a credit balance of £26 3s lOd. With referenco to financing the new parsonage at Onehunga, the secretary of the church, Mr. R. G. Taking, reported that the mortgage of £ISOO which had been left on the old parsonage when it was sold, had been paid, and was utilised in paying off tho mortgage of £I2OO on the new parsonage. The balance of £3OO would bo retained in a special fund for purchasing church sites in the district. Mr.. S. Allison reported on the finances of the Penrose church. The debt had been reduced to £SO, and a building section had been bought for £225, as a site for a parsonage. The membership of the three churches in the circuit was:—Onehunga, 177 senior and 30 junior; Penrose, 31 senior and 28 junior; Mangere, 14 senior.
