RANGITAIKI RELIEF.

PROVISION FOR PASTURE. OFFICIAL REPORTS AWAITED. [BY TELEGRAPH.— SPECIAL REPORTER,] WELLINGTON, Sunday. The Minister for Lands, tho Hon. A. D. McLeod, has received telegraphic information from officials of his department at Rangitaiki that provision has been made for pasturing a large number of cattle which have been removed from the flooded area. Full reports from tho drainage and public works engineers and land officials who have gone to Rangitaiki are expected to reach Wellington next week, after which tho Government will havo to decide on its course of action. Meanwhile tho Minister for Lands and the Prime Minister, as Minister for Public Works, arc keeping in touch with the situation through their officials.
