SPAIN AND THE RIFFS.
PEACE OFFER REJECTED.# •' > ' ABD EL KRIM'S LEG BROKEN. (Received 5.5 p.m.) Renter. ~ PARIS. July 2. A message from Madrid states that Spain has rejected the peace terms offered by the Riff leader, Abd el Krim. Tho latter demanded the recognition of arc independent Riff State partly situated in the Spanish zone. An aeroplane frightened a mule which was being ridden by Abd el Krim. The rider was thrown and one of his legs was fractured.
