THRILLING ADVENTURE.
HOUFIS ON NARROW ROCK. Two London tourists had a thrilling adventure when a landslide occurred on tho famous Castle Rock at Lynton, Devon. Cycling through Lynton, Mr. Alfred Waite and Mr. Tage reached the rock, an eminence 600 feet Jiigh, arjd sat down at a spot overlooking the sea, A portion of the cliff.,gave way, and Mr. Waite fell a considerable distance before coming to rest, on a ledge. Mr. Tage succeeded in clftnbirig doWu to his companion, who suffered severe injuries to his leg and .Was; unable to get back again. H* ! After the men had, been An the ledge for some hours news of. their predicament reached the Lynton police, but efforts to reach them proved unsuccessful. Later, by means of ropes let* down over the cliff edge, volunteers were lowered 'to the ledge, and the toyrists were eventually taken off by the <jrew. of a motor-boat, after they had been on the ledge for eight hours, and taken to Lynmouth. The men were driven to .Lynton Hospital, whero Mr. Waite vas reported to be progressing favourably. Mr. Tago was uninjured.
