For heavy work over long distances the "White" has NO rival. Its economy is equalled only by its longevity; running costs are surprisingly moderate. There is nothing remarkable, after all, in the fact that the world of road transport gives the "White" first place. w .t. 10 ■niMA&iw*, It 6 B tie Nfiu, X/tyn , LOCAL AGENTS:Giimour, Joll &. Assuming, then, that you are seated behind the wheel of an Oakland Six for a demonstration, you will first consider the matter of driving and operating controls. The electric starter button is where you can find it with your heel without looking and without reaching or changing your driving position. The hand throttle, the light and ignition switches, the choker button, the Oakland headlight dimmer control, ar.d the horn button are within finger's reach in the centre of the steering wheel, so that you do not have to reach to the dash for a single driving operation. The speedometer, ammeter, and oil pressure gauge are centred in a glass-covered panel on the dash, indirectly lighted from- the inside to do away with the glare of the instrument lamp at night.
