AN IRONING HINT.
Sprinkling with fingers dipped in water is a very clumsy method of damping things which cannot be ironed quite dry. It wets theni only in patches, and creases persist in the dry areas. Try instead wringing a handkerchief or 3 clean white rag out of water, and brushing it lightly hut firmly two or three times all over the article to be ironed. In this way it gets an even slight dampness that responds beautifully to the iron. This is particularly successful with small things, such as laces, handkerchiefs and fine embroidery.
