NEXT YEAR'S ROYAL SHOW. THE POSITION OF i AUCKLAND. Tljo general committee of tho Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association met yesterday, the president, Mr. W. W. Massey, occupying the chair. In regard to tho proposal to hold the Royal Show of 1926 in Auckland a letter was received from the president of the Royal Show Association, Mr. W. Perry, stating the committee appointed to inspect the facilities of the Auckland Association would arrivo next wpek. Tho chairman explained that if the committeo considered the facilities possessed and planned by the Auckland AsEociation adequate the Royal Show wouJd « held here.
Mr. C. W. Anderson emphasised t'he desirability of getting the city authorities to co-operate with the association in promoting the Royal Show. Thin was customary iri England. At the centre where a Royal Show was to be held the Council appointed a commercial committee to co-operate with the Show Society. It also appointed a local finance committee to obtain subscriptions for a fund to assist the show,.
A committee was appointed to interview the Mayor, Mr, 0. Baildon, and request him to welcome the Hoval Show delegates oc their arrival. The same committee was appointed to meet the delegates and confer with them on the ahowgroundts. A suggestion by the Jersey Cattle Breeders Association relating to. the appointment of junior judges at shovrs was discussed. It was suggested that permission be given to the Jersey Association to nominate junior judges to assist the judges appointed by the Agricultural and Pastoral Association in the Jersey classes. It was emphasised that the adoption of the proposal would be of educational value to young men in qualifying for the position, of senior judgp. The Jersey Association offered to provide £5 toward the travelling expenses of any junior judge appointed. It was decided to agree to tho proposal. A letter was received from the Minister for Agriculture, the Hon W. Nosworthy, in reply to representations made by the association relating to the removal of Mr. A. W. Green from the Ruakura State farm. The Minister stated that Mr, Green's transfer had been decided upon by the Public Service Commissioner awd the association's letter would be forwarded to the commissioner. The lettw wan formally received.
