OTAHUHU AFFAIRS.

RATEPAYERS' ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Otahuhu Ratepayers' Association was held in the public hall on Thursday evening, Mr. F. Potter presiding over a good attendance. It was decided to forward a request to the Borough Council that electric lighting should be used for the borough streets and that extra lamps should be piovjded. It wfcs pointed out. that a number of streets were in a state of semi-darknoss at night and some places wero dangerous to pedestrian*. A, discussion took place on the Lake Taupo water supply scheme. A motion that tho association support the scheme was withdrawn and the matter was deferred pending further information. The matter of the bank left in the middle of the new footpath in Station Road v?as discussed. It was decided to ask for information regarding it. It was decided that the n&me of the association should be changed to include "Residents."
