STOCKS AND SHARES.
AUCKLAND STOCK EXCHANGE Business was good on the Auckland sharerparket yesterday. In Government securities there was. a sale of the 1938 issue - of Inscribed Stock at £97, late holders asking £97 ss, buyers, £96 15s. In debentures New Zealand Brewerieu again had sale at 21s lid. Auckland Gas, per cent., were disposed of at £lO2. In banks inquiry for each issue of Nationals of New Zealand rose Is, but no holders quoted during the day. New Zealands sold at 57s 3d, more being available at that figure, buyers 56s 9d, In insurances Nationals sold at the mid-day call at 79s 6d, and at the last call at 78s 9d, this being tho closing offer by buyers. New Zealands were available at tho higher figure of 34s 9d, inquiry being lower at 345. South British at 50s 6d had demand at 49s 6d. In finance Goldsbrough, Mort sold at 455, more being available at that figure, buyers 44s 6d. Irt miscellaneous lines a sale of Kempthorne Prossers was reported at 65s 6d. New Zealand Breweries changed hands at the former price of 41s. There was-activity in Taranaki Oils, sales taking place at 21s 6d, 21s and 20s 9d. Final holders were at 21s 3d, buyers 20s 6d. A sale of Wilsons Cements again occurred at 33s 3d. Closing holders asked 33s 6d, buyers 335. In mining Kawaraus had sale at 15s 6d, closing holders 16s 3d, buyers 15s. Waihis at 26s 9d were sought at 26s 6d. The following sales took place:— New Zealand Inscribed Stock, 1938, £97; New 'Zealand Breweries Debenture's, 21s lid; Auckland Gas Debentures, 6$ per cent., £102; Bank of New Zealand, 57s 3d; National Insurance, 79s 6d, 78s 9d; Goldsbrough, Mort, 455; Kempthorne Prcsser, 65s 6d; New Zealand Breweries, shares, 41s; Taranaki Oil, 21s 6d, 21s, 20s 9d; Wilsons Cement, 33s 3d; Kawarau. 15s 6d.
