It is now necessary, it is stated, for all alien immigrants, on arrival in Australia, to bo in possession of at least £4O land-, ing money, unless their maintenance baa been guaranteed in writing by persons | already resident in Australia, who aro , in. a position to furniah a satisfactory guarantee.
