KAWARAU DAM SCHEME.
PROGRESS OF THE WORK. [by telegraph.—own correspondent. ] DUNEDIN. Wednesday. There are now 85 men working on tho construction of the piers at the head of the Kawarau River that are to dam the lake. Everything in connection with the work is going on satisfactorily. All the imported material for the piers is now landed, and the last of it will be on the site next week.
