Females in calf to high-class registered bulls. The herd was established 15 years ago and tho first cows used were from Mr. Garland's father's herd at Taurans&omoana, the highest testing herd in tho district. For some years Purebred Jersey Bulls from the late Mr. W. Win3tone. of Mount Albert, ■tf-ero used, the sires of the bulls being Sweet William, Fitzwilliam, Buttercup's Boy, and Golden Swan. For the last 7 years the well-bred Pedigree Bulls, Major Chase (combining Lord Twylish and Starlight Strains), Lord Hillview (Bloudin. imp.—Sheila, imp.), and Ellicit (combining Majesty's Fox and Eminent'o Fontaine Strains), have been used. The Herd has been tested and the figures will be given out at-, the said. Half the Heifera and Calves have been bred by Mr. Garland, and balance is from selected herds, Mr., Garland having reared calves instead of pigs. ... Mr. Garland has been fL big winner at ' local shows with pedigrees and grades. Heifers have been sold every year, and these have invariably done well.
