AUCKLAND BUILDERS.
THE ASSOCIATION DINNER. The annual dinner of, the Auckland Builders and Contractors' Association was held last evening, the president, Mr. G. G.' Pollard, in the chair. Reference was made to the progress of the association and the necessity for the members to stand loyally together in the interests of the trade. ■ - - *:• Several toasts were honoured. These were:—"The New Zealand Federated Builders' Association," proposed by Mr. G. G. Pollard and responded to by Mr. F. J. Fawcett, vice-president ?of the 'association; "The Architects," proposed by Mr. J. H. Hutchison and responded to by Mr. W. H. Glimmer; "The Merchants," proposed by Mr. W. Ball and responded to by Messfs. F. G. Baskett and H. N. Gill; "The City Council, and Officials," proposed by Mr. N. Cole and responded to by Messrs. W.. E. Bush and J. Maxwell; "The Allied Trades," proposed by Mr. A. W. Larsen and responded to by various representatives.. The speech-making was interspersed with several vocal and musical items. The entertainers were Messrs. H. Richards, A. McElwain, A. H. Ripley and J. Ryan.
