Miller, of Christchurch, is at tho Hotel Cargen. - Mr. Allen Bell, M.P. for Bay of Islands; is at the Grand Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Dettmann left by the Mauriganui yesterday on their return tp Sydney. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hall, of Wellington, left by the Maunganui yesterday for Sydney. The Hon. W. 11. Triggs, M.L.C., of; Wellington, and Mrs. Triggs, are at the Grand Hotel. _ Mr. and Mrs. I. Kissel, of Wellington," and Mr. T. Bunting, of Tauranga, are at the Central Hotel. Mr. S. A. Longuet's appointment -as Consul for Denmark at Wellington has received the King's signature. Mr. W. J. Girling. M.P. for Wairau,. who is visiting Auckland, will retliru to the South by train to-morrow evening. Mr. R. I. Corbett, of Whangarei, Mr. J. B. Jacobson, of Melbourne, and Messrs. S. G. Sargent and H. M. Proud, of Wellington, arc at the Star Hotel. Lieutenant-Commander P. Barcroft, of II M.S. Dunedin, and Lieutenant-Com-mander T. WoodroiTe, of H.M.S. Pmlomel, left for Wellington last evening. Mr J W Hay den was re-elected chairman and Mr. W. R. T. Leighton deputychairman of the Waitemata Power Board at the statutory meeting of the board held yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Heiman, of Hastings, Messrs J. L. Webb and C. Melville Isewton of Christchurch, Messrs. A. Puflett and L. Balfour, of Gisbornc, and Mr. C. W. Cooke, of Wellington, are at tho Grand Hotel. * Sir Trubv King, ncting-Inspcctor-Gencral of Mental Hospitals, arrived from Welling* ton yesterday morning and. attended tho opening of the nurses' home at the<Auckland Hospital. He left by the second express last evening.
