Mr J W Hay den was re-elected chairman and Mr. W. R. T. Leighton deputychairman of the Waitemata Power Board at the statutory meeting of the board held yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. Heiman, of Hastings, Messrs J. L. Webb and C. Melville Isewton of Christchurch, Messrs. A. Puflett and L. Balfour, of Gisbornc, and Mr. C. W. Cooke, of Wellington, are at tho Grand Hotel. * Sir Trubv King, ncting-Inspcctor-Gencral of Mental Hospitals, arrived from Welling* ton yesterday morning and. attended tho opening of the nurses' home at the<Auckland Hospital. He left by the second express last evening.
