ENGLISH COUNTY CRICKET. OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES. (Received 5.5 p.m.) Reutcr. LONDON, May 21 In tho county cricket competitions Somerset made 74 in their first innings against Lancashire. Macdonald took five wickets for 24 runs. In the second innings Somerset made 73. Parkin took six wickets for, 44. In their first innings Lancashire made 130. White took fiv<3 wickets for 67 and Hunt four for 63. Batting for Surrey againsk Warwick, Hobbs mado 120 and Sandham 181. Fender in tho first- innings took six wickets for 56 and Peach in the second took seven for 59. Bowling for Leicester against Cambridge Shipman took six wickets for 33. For Cambridge, Meyer in the first innings took six for 41, and in tho second seven for 24, Batting for Worcester, Hopkins made 122. Bowling for Sussex against Glamorgan, Tate in tho first innings took seven wickets for 23 and in the second seven for 35. For Gloucester against Essex, Bloodworth made 115. Parker took five wickets for 56. For Essex, Russell made 135 not out. For Yorkshire against Derby, Holmes made 125. Macaulay took seven wickets for 13. FAR EASTERN OLYMPIAD. PHILIPPINES TEAM CHAMPIONS. (Received 5.5 p.m.) Kcuter. MANILA, May 24. The Philippines won the general championship in tho Far Eastern Olympiad. They annexed the track and field events and basketball and were second in swimming, football and tennis. Japan won tho tennis and swimming and were second in tho track and field events and third in tho basketball and football. China won tho football and were second in basketball and third in track and field events, swimming and tennis. TENNIS IN AUSTRALIA. CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY. Auatralian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY. May 25. In the men's singles at the Now South Wales tennis championships Peach defeated Seller 6 —4, I—6, 4—6, 7—5, 8-6. In tho final of the women's singles Miss Cox defeated Miss Martin 7—5, 6—l. In the women's doubles Mrs. Utz and Miss Cox beat Mrs. Todd and Miss Loyne 6—l, 6 —o.
