DEFENCE NOTES'.

All territorial and senior cadets units will re-eommer.ce training as from today. Senior cadets should note that they will parade on their usual training nights at their respective drill sheds, at 7.30 p.m. "A." Company Ist Battalion, C.R.0., will parade in the Drill Hall, Rutland Street, at 7.30 p.m. " B." Company will parade to-morrow evening, and Headquarters Wing on Thursday. The 18th Medium Battery (Gin. Howitzer) will parade on Monday next.. A shoot will be carried out by the battery from North Head on Saturday, May i 6. The Mount Eden Grammar School Rifle Club resumed activities on Saturday morning, a practice shoot being conducted at Penrose range. -A meeting of the management committee of the, Auckland Military Sports' Association will bo held in the Drill Hall, Rutland Street, to-morrow evening. The new executive of the Officers' Club have made a step in the right direction by their encouragement to the junior officers to become members. Lieutenant S. Reid, is now secretary of the club, and can be depended upon for a progressive policy in every direction of " club ' activities. The following cadet companies now form a battalion under the command of Major J. H. Ansel!Ponsonby district, the 27th, 20th, and 29th; Noithcoto 36 " A" Company, Takapuna 36 " B" Company, and Devonport. 35th Company. Captain J. M. Craig, from the Reserve of Officers, is now attached to the 13th Coast Battery. Lieut. H. A. Woolf, 3rd. Cadet Battalion, has been transferred to the Reserve of Officers.
