TRANSFER TO RUAKURA. [BY IE LEG U A I'll. OWN COIt RESPONDENT, ] HAMILTON. Saturday. The transfer of the pedigree Ayrshire and Guernsey cattle from the Moumahaki Experimental Farm to the Ruaktira Farm of Instruction took place yesterday. The former farm recently closed down. The Ayrshire slock numbers 45 head. 36 being females and the remainder males, while in Guernseys there are 11 males and three females. The animals are either directly imported cattle or the progeny of imported stock, and their transfer to Ruaknra should mark an epoch in the history of the two breeds in the Waikato. In addition to the cattle fho team of Black Orpington fowls which secured first place in the last egg-laying competition in Auckland has been secured by the Ruaklira farm as a nucleus of a flock of this popular breed.
