FASHION GLIMPSES.
Absinthe green is promised a great success for afternoon frocks. A curious new fashion is a very short sleeve ..of a totally different colour from that of tho rest of the frock. The thinnest black gauze may be trimmed with row upon row of soft cream lace and worn over a flesh-coloured slip. Frocks of dazzlingly printed, vividly coloured crepe de chine have been greatly admired at the recent dress shows. As a rule the background is black, but is practically obscured by the intricate and strikingly coloured designs of leaves or flowers. A fashion of the moment is to have the hat and casaquin made of the same material. Silver braid is used a great deal on walking frocks. Oil one distinctive coatfrock it was worked into tho shape of beetles. .Large white crystal tube beads made ah unusual trimming on the collar and cuffs of a tailored frock of navy repp. The handkerchief sleeve is once again revived in the new season's modes. So fragile are the evening cloaks designed for restaurant wear that one wonders if they would survive more than one wearing. ' They arc made of exceedingly thin unlined chiffon, with unsewn hems.
