BEAUFORD'S LAST RACE.
GELDING RACES BADLY. A. and N.Z. SYDNEY, May 3. Bcaufora contested the Doninan Stakes, nix furlongs, at Uandwiek, yesterday, and be finished Inst, but one in the fluid. His owner, Mr W. 11. Mackay, stated that Beauford hnd run his last race, and that , the horse would bo forthwith retired from the turf. In races up to a mile and a-half Beauford is popularly accorded a place with the most noteworthy horses that have figured on the Australian turf, and lie ift included with the few that defeated' that wonderful galloper, Gloaming. During his career Beauford won ]7 races and his winning in stakes amounts to £ 17,200.
