TE AWAMUTU MEETING. I'BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] TE AWAMUTU, Saturday. At a meeting of tho ManttgcmoDt Committee of tho Waipa Racing Club, tho secrotary Mr. W. Ci Wynyard reported that tho prcuident of tho Racing Confercneo (Sir Geo. Clifford), had given formal consent (under protest) to tho local club holding a meetin a on May 27. Stakes to the valuo of £9lO were decided upon as follows.—Nearoto Hurdles, £100; Maiden Steeples. £110; Open Welter. £100; Woodstock Stakes, £200; Hairini llack Handicap, £80; To Awamutu Steeplechase, £2:10; Arapuni Handicap, £l2O. Officials wore duly appointed for the meeting, and preliminary arrangements dealt with.
