Ci Wynyard reported that tho prcuident of tho Racing Confercneo (Sir Geo. Clifford), had given formal consent (under protest) to tho local club holding a meetin a on May 27. Stakes to the valuo of £9lO were decided upon as follows.—Nearoto Hurdles, £100; Maiden Steeples. £110; Open Welter. £100; Woodstock Stakes, £200; Hairini llack Handicap, £80; To Awamutu Steeplechase, £2:10; Arapuni Handicap, £l2O. Officials wore duly appointed for the meeting, and preliminary arrangements dealt with.
