LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS.
OFFICIAL COUNT IN CITY. RESULTS NOT AFFECTED. CANDIDATES CHANGE POSITION. The official count of the votes recorded in the recent elections of members of the City Council and the city representatives on the Auckland Harbour Board was completed on Saturday by the returning officer, Mr. P. E. Notley, and his staff. The results of the elections already published are riot affected by the official count, except in regard to the total of the votes for each candidate, this having, in some instances, altered the places on the poll allotted iu the first count. There were a large number of informal votes in the City Council election, but some of the papers which had been declared informal by deputy returning officers were allowed in the official count, as the intention of tho voters was clear after investigation. The corrected figures officially announced in this issue show that Mr. A. J. Entrican assumes fourth place in the list instead of ninth, while Mr. J. A. C. Allum goes from fourth to seventh piace. Mr. G. Knight stands sixth instead of seventh. Mr. J. Deinpsey, who was originally placed sixth, assumes eighth place, and Mr. J. W. Hardley, win) occupied ■ the latter position, is now ninth. Of the unsuccessful candidates lite first seven retain the respective positions allotted to them by the first count. The official count of votes cast in tho city area for the Harbour Board election makes no change in the respective positions of the nine candidates.
