ALLEGED BOGUS TICKETS.
EASTBOURNE FERRY CASE. ANOTHER EMPLOYEE CMARCED. [BY TELEGRAPH.--PRKSR ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Irregularities alleged to have, taken place in the Eastbourne ferry offices were further ventilated to-day, when a young married man, George Nelson Shore, formerly traffic manager, was charged . with the theft, of £3OO, between July 13, 1923, and December 15, 1924. The chief witness, Albert John Doran, a former .servant in the ferry service, who is &t present awaiting sentence on a charge of theft of £328 10s from tho ferry service, declared that Shore kept a store of tickets, and about a year ago - approached witness with a proposal to sell curtain tickets and share the proceeds fifty fifty. Witness sold tickets to ferry passengers, and continued doing so during 1924. When accused left the offica in December last witness was transferred. Shore told him he could have the balance of the tickets, about 1400 or 1500. Witness said he sent Shore £9 10s, being part of £2B 10s that he had received from AI low ay, another clerk in the ferry office* Detectives said that when they approached Shore at Palmerston North they, told him they had a search warrant to see if anv tickets were in the house. Shore pulled some from his pockets, but - said they were no use. After other evidence had been given the accused was committed for trial. Ho was released on bail in the sum of £2OO on condition that he reported weekly to tiie police.
