Lady Galwav, speaking at the Mansion House, appealed for £75.000 for the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital extension fund. She gave details of a sectional scheme to build a nurses' home as a memorial to 87 overseas nurses who gave their lives in the war. The nurses referred to included 15 New Zealanders and 24 Australians.
