A private session of the Council of the League of Nations was held to-day. 'I lie British Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Austen Chamberlain, presided. '1 he sitting lasted for an hour. The question of loans advanced to mandated territories and the investment of capital in those areas was touched upon. It was proposed to refer the answers of the mandatory Powers to the Mandates Commission which is to meet at Geneva in June, but a final decision was not arrived at pending the attendance, of the Belgian and Swedish members of the Council.
