Hughes presiding. | The Matamaia Town Board requested j permission to connect, stormwater drain--1 age from a small portion of the Town | Board's area with the Drainage Board's j system. 'l'he request was refused, it, being | pointed out that the drains were conIstructeil for rural purposes only and were only adequate for that purpose. I Attention was drawn by the chairman [to the damage done to drains by blackj berries growing on tile edges. Other | boards, he said, were calling upon projperty owners lo clear these weeds. The I question of the board's powers arose and lit was staled by the clerk that the board | would have no power until its new by-laws | were in force, enabling il to clear weeds J where Ihe properly owners failed to do j | so and charge, the cost to the owners. The j ! inspector of noxious weeds would take {action, however, it he were supplied with j the names of offenders. It was decided -to serve notices on all offenders whoso ! names were known.
