LEGISLATORS' STRIKE.
BEATING THE GOVERNOR. SENATE WITHOUT A QUORUM. CHICAGO, t'ck 'JO. Sixteen squalors of the Indiana .state Legislature saw t-iicv would be outvoted on legislation changing the boundaries of their ridings, so fhey stayed in bed at. their hotel until the Governor sent his aide de-camp to retrieve them. So long as they remained in Indiana they could lie compelled to perforin their legislative duties, but one brighter mind than the rest finally suggested that they go on "a sort of strike spree " to Chicago. Here they are to-day, and, without a quorum, flu'. Indiana Legislature cannot function in their absence.
It is probable that the State Governor will have to arrange a compromise to obtain the return of the runaways in order to deal with other important legislation.
