WORKERS' EDUCATION.

THE DOMINION CONFERENCE. OPENS AT AUCKLAND TO-DAY. The annual Dominion conference of the Workers' Educational Association will commence to-day at the University College. Tho president. Mr. H. D. Acland, will occupy the chair, and the following delegates will bo present: Mr. Geo. Thompson, Professor. J. Shelley, Messrs. M. J. Forde, D. McAllister, A. Dyer, L. A. Mander, W. J. Scott, B. Martin and G. Manning (Dominion secretary). This will bo the first occasion on which the conference has been held in Auckland. Tho growth of the movement in this city during the last few years influenced the previous Dominion conference in the choice of Auckland for the present sitting. The public convention, which is to be held this evening in the Town Hall, will be unique in the history of the movement, as in addition to a speech by Professor ,T. Shelley, of Canterbury College, 'on "Education and Democracy," two prominent Labour men, Mr. W. J. Joroan, At.P., and Mr. W. Nash, national secretary of the Labour Party, will speak Jn "Education and the Workers." This convention is to bo conducted cn similar lines to those held each year in Great Britain. The convention is free and open to the public.
