MORE EFFICIENT SERVICE, MINISTER DISARMS CRITICS. ' [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION-] CHRISTCHUKCH. Friday. A large and representative deputation from the West Coast waited on the Hon. J. G. Coates to protest against the re* moval of certain executive officers of the department and tho change in the work shops at Grovmouth as proposed under the Minister's new railways policy. After the Minister had made his reply member of the deputation took a brighter view o the future prospects of the coast in c Oll nection with railway matters, and '' ie Minister was thanked for his statement and given an assurance that there no wish to hamper him in his efforts ,0 get, greater efficiency.
