('able advice has been received to the effect that in the winter reliability trial of the Alps the U.S.A. was again victorious. Tim Fiat race driver, Pcitio Bordino, who recently arrived ir. America to take part, in a series of races on the Californian tracks, opened his campaign by covering a lap on the Los Angeles board track at the record average of 131 mil en an hour. Bordino drove the 8-cylinder Fiat, super* charged 2000 c.c., built for the 1924 rench Grand Prix. Unlike the American cars, against which it, is competing, it has a two-seater body, but, is driven with the mechanic's seat empty, in accordance with the American rules allowing single-seater Isouies m all speed contests.
