FASHION NOTES.

The newest, notion in artificial flowers :s to have them sprayed with diamond dust. An appearance of shimmering dewdrops is given to tlieso sprays, which just gives a distinctive touch. Any favourite flower can Lie so treated, hut carnations are the most de rigueur, and look beautiful. Our feet are to be gay this winter. Turquoise blue kid, specially dved and embroidered in diamante, makes a delightful relief to a sombre toilette. Plain satin Court shoes are seen increasingly in the exact tone of the accompanying frock, and look very charming in dead white and pastel shades. Emerald green and cerise kid arc, however, now entirely demode. Some of the best, effects in the evening are achieved by the use of real flowers, whose freshness has won immediate and universal approval. Flowers are seen everywhere, and are worn just below the left shoulder in enormous clusters. One lovely nosegay of pale mauve orchids made an exquisite finish to a pure white frock, heavily embroidered; large pink carnations are much favoured, or, to be among the really elite, a rare orchid must, be selected, giving a daring note. Felt hats are seen more than velvet, just now, and even disport, themselves at the Ritz for iea, whereas in the old days felt, was relegated to the country. Some of the- felt models are being charmingly decorated bv a slot being made in the crown for the stem of a flower. Thrust through the slot a camelia gives a fascinating touch to a plain felt hat, and is worn at the front or right side.
