A TANGANYIKA GIANT.
WEIRD PREHISTORIC REPTILE. Lying under the ground in Tanganyika territory are the remains of a very Goliat 1 among animals, a reptile as long as street. Part of it- has already been uncovered. and the dimensions of the fossil bones suggest that, it must be at. least twice as big as the Dirlodoeus ( arnrg > the giant found in Wyoming and now the Carnegie Institute at Pittsburg. A cast- of this creature is in the Natura History Museum at South Kensington, and, as that is 80ft. Jong, the undiscovered monster of Tanganyika must oe at least 160 ft. long, or nearly twice tw length of the biggest known whale. The Natural History Museum is ve . anxious to obtain this enormous fossiJ ami set it up in London, whore it would cc tain I v be one of the wonders of the worw, but the cost is very great. Hon) to £IO,OOO is required, and it some rui man or men would give this sum toi purpose the fossil could be retrieved ana brought to England. ~ The.
